Dr. Christina Carter
Biography
Dr. Christina Carter graduated from Haverford College as a molecular biology major. She attended UMDNJ-NJDS, now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She completed her pediatric dental residency at NYUCD where she served as chief resident. She completed her residency in orthodontics at NYUCD. She continued her studies with a fellowship in Cleft, Craniofacial and Surgical Orthodontics at NYU Langone Medical Center-Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.
She has a dual appointment in NYUCD’s departments of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. She was President of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists (NESO) and served on the American Association of Orthodontists Council on Health Care. She was a member of the House of Delegates and served as Delegate Chair.
She lectures nationally and internationally to audiences of pediatric dentists and orthodontist. She is a speaker for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Oral Board Review Course and The Comprehensive Review Course.

Title: “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization: Etiology and Treatment”
Description:
Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) affects the enamel of teeth. It presents esthetic and structural complications that can frustrate patients, parents and dentists. This lecture will explore the etiology and multiple treatment options including cosmetic dentistry to orthodontics.

Title: “Pacifiers- When to love them and when to leave them and how they break your heart”
Description:
Pacifiers and non-nutritive sucking habits (NNS) can provide babies and parents lots of peace and quiet. Sometimes, there are great benefits to pacifiers. Everything good must come to an end but when is that time? We will discuss how NNS is helpful, when it should stop and the damage it can create.
