EGP 1500 | EGP 1200 | USD 150
Description | |||
The workshop’s main objective is to aid with decision-making for use of minimally invasive strategies for management of dental caries lesions. This will include interactive discussions with participants, use of cases, and images. Ideally we would have available immediate response systems (such as clickers, etc.), so we could have discussions in real time. This workshop will be relevant for clinicians, educators and researchers.
At the completion of the workshop, attendees will have a better understanding on how to use evidence-based, minimally invasive approaches for management of caries lesions in pediatric settings. Detection and Diagnosis (1h)
Engage the audience in training of classification of caries lesion severity using the ICDAS II criteria using images.
Caries Removal and Sealing Caries Lesions (1h)
Engage the audience in case discussions of management of deep caries lesions |

Fees | EPDA Non-Members | EPDA Members | Non-Egyptians |
EGP 2000 | EGP 1800 | USD 200
Description | |||
In this workshop, two emerging clinical techniques will be presented. The first will be on tooth autotransplantation. In children and adolescents, the management of missing permanent teeth can be challenging. Treatment options include prosthodontic replacement, orthodontic space closure or tooth autotransplantation. The workshop will provide instruction in the area of tooth auto-transplantation as an adjunct to trauma management. The second technique discussed will be the often contentious area of frenectomies. The evidence base for the risks and benefits of frenectomies will be presented and various diagnostic scales and criteria will be addressed. In addition, conservative surgical techniques will be reviewed.

EGP 2000 | EGP 1800 | USD 200
Description | |||
Successful & reliable restoration of primary teeth is a cornerstone in managing pediatric dental defects. Restoration is essential to manage small cavities all through severely mutilated teeth. The longevity and reliability of the restoration fulfilling function and esthetics demands is the goal of all pediatric dental practitioners. As it is well known, Full coverage is the reliable restorative option for endodontically treated teeth, severely mutilated teeth and teeth with developmental defects. Moreover recent conservative approaches in management of deep caries requires proper restorative seal to ensure the success of indirect pulp capping or partial caries removal, and this can well achieved with full coverage. The demand for esthetic alternatives is rising, and accordingly the practitioners should master delivering these restorations in an efficient way. This presentation and hands-on will focus on the use of stainless steel crowns and zirconia crowns for both anterior and posterior restorations in children, with special emphasis on the clinical tips that can help in a reliable and efficient placement of these restorations. The use of recent bio-ceramic formulas that can help ensuring a predictable pulp management, will be discussed. |

Increasingly it becomes apparent that the causes of Sleep Disorder Breathing begin to develop during early childhood. If these causes are left unchecked, a child’s Sleep Disorder Breathing can result in a variety of childhood disorders ranging from enlarged tonsils and adenoids to learning difficulties and behavioral problems.
Sleep Disorder Breathing in Children has also been recognized as causing widespread health developmental and behavioral problems including difficulty concentrating at school. Additionally, as well as being determinantal to the development of the face, jaws, and teeth, if left untreated Pediatric Sleep Disorder Breathing can lead to significant and serious health problems causing poor quality of life later in adulthood. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry policy encourages healthcare professionals to routinely screen their patients for increased risk and to facilitate medical referrals when indicated. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the evaluation and treatment of Pediatric sleep-disordered breathing from a myofunctional, and dental perspective. |
