Dr. Marwa Baraka

Biography

Dr. Marwa Baraka, lecturer of Pediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University. I had my BS in 2010, MSc in 2015, and PhD in 2023 from the same university. I worked for six months as an adjunct assistant clinical professor in the Cariology, Restorative, and Endodontics department, School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. I am a Fulbright Alumni, cohort 2021, and had a non-degree PhD scholarship in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I attained a US- Egypt cooperation grant from Venture Well and STDF and secured funding for my project: Pulp AI and was selected among five teams to have an incubation period in Georgia Tech, Atlanta, Georgia, USA to experience the US ecosystem. I have publications in top Q1 dental journals

Purpose: This lecture aims to provide a detailed overview of the current applications of AI in pediatric dentistry, focusing on its potential as a complementary tool for preventive and therapeutic oral health diagnostics. By exploring recent advancements and emerging trends in the field, this presentation seeks to highlight the role of AI in enhancing the quality of pediatric dental care and shaping the future of dental practice for young patients. In addition, how AI technologies can be leveraged to improve clinical decision-making, personalize treatment approaches, and ultimately, enhance the overall patient experience in pediatric dentistry. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the evolving terrain of AI in pediatric dental care, along with the exciting prospects for innovation and collaboration in this dynamic field, as well as updates on the ongoing projects within the Pediatric Dentistry department at Alexandria University.
